Multifocal

One of the most advanced cataract surgery technology is the multifocal intraocular lens. It is the best way to be completely free from both prescription glasses as well as readers as the design allows improved vision at all distances – up close, far away and everything in between – giving cataract patients their best chance ever to live free of glasses. How do multifocal lenses work?

How do multifocal lenses work?

As we perform daily activities such as reading, watching television or working at the computer, our eyes are constantly focusing on objects at varying distances – up close, far away and everything in-between. The ability to quickly change focus throughout this range of vision is called accomodation. Unfortunately, this ability diminishes as we grow older causing us to become dependent on bifocals or reading glasses. However, multifocal lenses are designed to restore the full range of vision that was lost, reducing the need for glasses. Unfortunatley, not everyone is a candidate for the ReSTOR IOL and knowing who is and is not a good candidate is extremely important. Our doctors will conduct a thorough examination of your eyes in order to determine if multifocal lenses area a good choice for you.

Patient Testimonials

"My cataracts had gotten so bad I had to get my golf buddies to follow my ball because I just couldn't see where it went. My glasses were not helping. I just couldn't see to do most things. Now my eye sight is better than it was when I was twenty. I do not ever have to wear glasses for anything at all, whether driving or reading or whatever. Dr. Berry is the best doctor around and his staff are all great people. I am 110 percent satisfied with the surgery and the experience. I was expecting improvement, but not as good as it turned out to be. The whole experience was great."

Dr. Berry and his staff were very helpful in preparing me for surgery, which ended up being very easy and without any pain. I chose the multifocal lens because I didn't want to wear glasses at all.
